On the Dale

On the Dale
April 17, 2012

There’s a barrenness, a loneliness
You’re left with the feeling of lacking something
And it is lacking it’s empty
All yellows and browns and blank
But in the barrenness is beauty
Unspoilt nature
It’s gorgeous, the emptiness
But you’re not quite sure why
As you look, and you breathe, and you stand in the wind
You feel a power flow through you
Quick, silent, and strong
As you look at the emptiness
Barren but not broken
You feel though you’re empty, though you’re weak, you can stand
Though it stands there so empty
It stays ever as strong
Heart fills with barren beauty
From the strength of the moor
